Going against the Grain

She has never been one to do as she is told, she wasn’t naughty. She just like the freedom to do as she wished. Even as a child when she was asked to be quiet,  something would build up inside her and she would have to talk or move out of the room so she could talk.

Throughout school she realized that there were times when to listen and times when to argue. Times where she had to let things go, or admit your wrong and times where she had to stand her ground and and your point.

It is on the real world that these skills come in to play. When your boss asks you to do something you must do it.  When debating, you can argue your point.  When your loved one says ‘i’m asking you to leave it’, you must let your curiosity go. However…

Sometimes, there is something called going against the grain. Doing something that is not you at all. Doing something so unlike you that it just feels unnatural. Like all lessons in life they must be learned and going against the grain, can smooth the rough surface, making it easier to get along with.
